RESCUE! – Experience avalanche dogs live

Training & Demonstration: Experience Avalanche Search Dogs in Action!

Avalanche search dogs are true lifesavers! – When companion rescue reaches its limits after an avalanche, they come into play – with keen noses that can sniff out buried victims even under many meters of snow.

But behind this impressive performance lies years of training, precision, and teamwork between dog and handler.

At the Freeride Days Engelberg, you have a unique chance to witness this work up close! 🐾

What to expect:

On a specially prepared avalanche field at Trübsee, the avalanche dog handlers from Engelberg Valley will demonstrate together with their four-legged heroes how a rescue works in an emergency. You can witness live how the dogs search for buried people and objects. The brave ones can even let themselves be buried in a snow hole – and be rescued by a dog’s nose!

Learn from the pros:
The team of experienced rescue dog handlers will be on-site to answer your questions:

  • How is an avalanche dog trained?
  • What happens when every second counts?
  • And: Why are Labradors such great search dogs?

Program:
📅 Sunday, March 16, 2025
